Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy is an important step, and it’s normal to have questions along the way. Here are some common questions about my practice, services, and approach. If you don’t see your question here, please don’t hesitate to reach out - I’m happy to help.

Where is your office located?

My office is located in Downtown Marietta, Georgia. Please see my location page for address details and map.

Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?

Yes! You are welcome to come into my Marietta office, or we can meet virtually through a secure Telehealth platform - whichever feels best for you. I am able to offer tele therapy sessions for anyone residing within the state of Georgia.

What areas and people do you work with?

I support individuals facing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive patterns, addiction and recovery, relationship challenges, and identity struggles. I also have a special interest in supporting women through the unique psychological and emotional challenges related to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the evolving identity that comes with motherhood.

What ages do you work with?

I currently see adult clients (ages 18 and older) for individual therapy.

What therapy approaches do you use?

I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and somatic interventions, always tailoring the work to each client’s unique needs. I believe in a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can reach out through email (Rbarrytherapy@gmail.com) or by phone (404-308-5867). I do my best to respond within 24-48 hours to find a time that works best for you.

What can I expect during the first session?

The first session is about connection and understanding. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and how we might approach it together. It’s a time for you to ask any questions and see if it feels like the right fit.

Do you accept insurance and what are your session fees?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I’m happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. My individual session rate is $160 for 50 minutes. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about this process.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged the full session fee.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Protecting your confidentiality is a core part of the therapy relationship. I will review the few legal exceptions to confidentiality with you during our first session, so you feel fully informed and comfortable.
